The average cost of taking care of a disabled child in SESOBEL is between $7,000 and $11,000 USD per year.

This cost covers medical care, rehabilitation, special education, social care and transportation.

The family participation and the Lebanese ministry of social affairs contribution cover 17% of the cost.

83% is the remaining budget that must be collected from various sources such as sponsorship, donations and self-sustained activities.

More than one person can sponsor a single child

The sponsor will receive an annual bulletin that describes the main activities of SESOBEL during the year.

Sponsoring is a process that keeps lasting contacts and helps to follow the development of the sponsored child or group. However, donations are basically occasional and limited in time. They are unrestricted and are implemented according to the donor’s wishes.

  • Donations are used to:

    • - Organize activities: Christmas celebration, end of school year celebration, anniversaries…
    - Purchase gifts for the children
    - Cover emergency situations
    - Develop SESOBEL’s activities.

  • The donor receives:

    • - An acknowledgment of receipt of the amount of donation
    - A thank you letter which describes how and for what the money was used.

    - a note describing life at SESOBEL (twice a year)
    - an information report “Mini Basma” (once a year)

In order to provide SESOBEL with the necessary equipment to better care for the children and /or improve SESOBEL’s services.

Your support will help us enhance our services in the following fields :

  • Educational and stimulating games (special needs toys)
    Equipement for classrooms (chairs, tables, stationary…)
    Audio visual devices
    Equipment for physical activities
    Books

  • Rehabilitation :
    Special equipment and devices for rehabilitation
    Adaptation and equipment of the rehabilitation rooms

  • Maintenance and logistics:
    Computers and software
    Adjustment of the offices
    Maintenance of the offices: painting, waterproof treatment, of the playgrounds…
    Maintenance or purchase of new cars for the transportation of children and for the collection of local sponsorship money and donations.

  • Sheltered workshops:
    Equipment to improve production.
